A small practice with a considered approach to architecture

Architecture shaped by place, performance and purpose.

At Cynosure Architecture, we believe thoughtful design begins with an understanding of people, place and the environment. Our work across Perth, Margaret River and Western Australia's South West spans residential, hospitality and commercial architecture, with each project shaped by its unique context.

Sustainability is central to our approach. Drawing on our expertise in Passive House design, we balance architectural expression with environmental performance, creating buildings that are beautiful, comfortable and designed to endure.

Matt Burleigh

Architect + Director

Matt founded Cynosure Architecture to create buildings that are as enjoyable to live and work in as they are to look at.

A Registered Architect and Certified Passive House Designer, he's particularly interested in making ambitious ideas work in the real world. From the first sketch to the finer construction details, Matt enjoys getting stuck into the challenges of a project and remains closely involved throughout.

Environmental performance is integral to our approach to architecture, not an afterthought.

Drawing on our expertise in Passive House design, we consider comfort, energy efficiency and building longevity from the earliest stages of design.

Whether pursuing formal certification or simply seeking a better-performing building, we believe good design and environmental responsibility should go hand in hand.
